Think about malaria
In Kenya, fever can be a sign of malaria, especially after travel to high-risk areas. Testing is important because malaria needs prompt treatment.
Get seen promptly if
Fever lasts more than two days, or comes with a stiff neck, rash, difficulty breathing, confusion, persistent vomiting, severe headache or fits.
For babies under three months, any fever needs medical assessment. For children, watch for unusual drowsiness, refusing to feed or fewer wet nappies.
